Massage Modalitites
Swedish Massage:
Employs basic movements that can be slow and gentle, vigorous or bracing, according to the request of the client.
Lymphatic:
Lymph drainage massage (LDM), a gentle, rhythmic style of massage that mimics the action of the lymphatic system, uses precise rhythm and pressure to pen the initial lymphatics and stimulate lymph vessel contraction to reduce edema. Edema is an unusual accumulation of fluid in soft tissues that can be temporary and mild or serious, as in chronic lymphedema.
Stones:
Hot Stone Massage combines heat and massage to create a relaxing, gentle yet effective treatment, using heated and cooled stones. Geo-Thermo-Therapy (SM), applied to the body brings relief to stiff and sore muscles. Using heated or cooled stones results in alleviation of chronic and acute problems that many of us deal with on a daily basis.
Deep Tissue:
Designed to rearrange and actually “sculpt” congested and glued structures. Deep tissue physically separates hydrogen bonds which increase a broader range of motion, warming, energizing and preparing both the facia and the reflex musculature. Has a tremendous effect upon the tissues ability to change.
Sports Massage:
Especially designed to prepare and athlete for an upcoming event and to aid in the body’s regenerative and restorative capacities. Specialized deep tissue manipulations that stimulate circulation or blood and lymph. Breaks down lesions and adhesions and reduces fatigue.
Trigger Point Therapy:
A myofascial trigger point is an area within a taut band of muscle. The spot is painful on compression and evokes referred pain. Treatment consists of maintaining compression on the trigger point until the pain and area of referral diminishes. This process flushes toxins, increase blood flow to the muscle, while decreasing pain.
Neuro-Structural Bodywork:
Combines a variety of techniques, including facial release, neuromuscular reeducation, craniosacral ad- justment and breath work in balancing the musculoskeletal, nervous and chakra systems. NBT is effective in treating both acute injuries and chronic conditions.
